WW2 WINCHESTER LOCK BAR REAR SIGHT

$500.00
Very scarce Winchester World War II locking bar rear sight. Very good condition with no rust or pitting. There are many subtle differences between a Springfield and a Winchester rear sight. The Winchester elevation pinion and windage knob have open arrows, a Winchester aperture as noted in the photo has no track on either side of the gear serrations and the apertures peep hole is thicker and beveled as opposed to a Springfield. The Winchester base usually has machine markings on the outside and sometimes on the inside of the "ears"protecting the aperture in addition the area behind the pinion housing is curved. See photo. The locking bar while square is beveled at each end, a tiny punch mark is usually present near the front of the rear sight cover.
