1942 WW2 Winchester M1 Garand

Rifle was manufactured in July of 1942 and has a sharp WRA/GHD inspected buttstock. Has a gray-worn period-correct military finish in good condition with a beautiful patina.  All parts except for the follower arm rod are Winchester.

 

  • Winchester Repeating Arms Company M1 Garand Rifle manufactured in July 1942.
  • 24” Winchester barrel.
  • Gas cylinder is wide base Winchester with Winchester front sight and staked stacking swivel.
  • Excellent single slot lock screw with Winchester machining marks.
  • Winchester Operating Rod that has NOT been altered with a relief cut.
  • Original WW2 Winchester Locking Bar rear sight with staked elevation pinion and Rockwell hardness proof marks.
  • Trigger mechanism appears to be all correct. Housing is a WRA large pad with a cloverleaf hole.
  • Bolt is Winchester, marked D28286-1 W.R.A.
  • Excellent condition original WW2 “GHD Inspected” long channel walnut stock with matching handguards.
    • The stock is original WW2 vintage, inspected by Colonel Guy H. Drewry, with a strong cartouche, cross cannons, and firing proof.  Buttplate, lower band and ferrule are Winchester.
    • The stock has a very nice patina with some dings and dents as would be expected in a 80+ year old stock.
    • There is a rack number "171" stamped into the left side of the pistol grip and a small arsenal repair at the bottom of the buttplate area (see photo).
  • The rifle has a bright, shiny bore with strong lands and grooves.  
    • Gauges 2 at the Muzzle.
    • Guages 1 at the Throat.
  • This rifle is used and has not been test-fired by us.
