1945 vintage M1 rifle. 3,500,000 range serial number, the barrel is dated March 1945. The bore is bright and shiny, the throat gauges 3 and the muzzle gauges 2. All metal surfaces are free of pitting or rust, sharp markings on the metal and wood. Over 70% of the original Parkerizing is present. Trigger mechanism is not original to this rifle. The stock has no cracks, no rebuild markings, no repairs, and no rack numbers. The cartouche, crossed cannons, firing proof, and ordinance stock inspector stamp on the bottom of the pistol grip are all sharp and distinct. The gas cylinder and gas cylinder lock screw are void of any finish. Some mixed parts. This is a good example of a late war M1 rifle.
