Model 1903 Springfield rifle manufactured in March of 1918. Most parts appear to be correct for the vintage of this rifle. Metal surfaces are free of any pitting or signs of wear. The markings are sharp and crisp. The serial number is over 800,000, the metal surfaces are smooth and have a very dark finish. The hand guard is of the proper type for the vintage of the rifle, the finger groove stock has no cracks and shows honest wear, it has a ghost of a cartouche and firing proof. This stock is from an earlier manufacture than the Barrel and receiver. The bore of the rifle has had many rounds through it, the barrel is dated 3-18
