PRE CIVIL WAR BATTY PEACE FLASK
A Batty brass powder flask made in 1853. This Particular type of powder flask was generally issued to mounted troops with a Mississippi model 1841 2 band rifle. Called a peace flask because of the 2 hands shaking motif. Same design on both sides, an American eagle facing to the right over two hands shaking over a US shield, flags and various swords and muskets. This flask is in exceptional condition, with US military acceptance markings and an pleasing ancient patina, all parts are intact and operable, there is a usual minor minor dent or two but the flask is sound and complete.
