1955 vintage M1 rifle manufactured by Springfield. 5 million 9 hundred thousand serial range M1 rifle. All metal surfaces are smooth, with no rust or pitting. All markings are sharp and distinct. 95% plus original finish. The April 1955 dated barrel guages a 2 at the throat and a 1 at the muzzle, the bore is mirror bright. The operating rod is a 6535382 SA, the Bolt is a 6528287 SA, the trigger housing is a 6528290 SA. all other parts also appear to be original to this rifle. The stock has no cracks, no rebuild marking, no repairs, and no rack numbers. The stock is free of any dents or bruises with the exception of an area on the left side at the magazine well as indicated in the photo. The cartouche and firing proof are sharp and distinct.
